Police
A patrol drone is the first set of eyes on a scene. It follows a suspect without a foot chase, watches a perimeter from above, and photographs a crash from angles a camera on a pole cannot reach.
Fire
From above, a thermal camera shows where a fire is hottest and which way it is moving, where each crew is, and what a roof looks like before anyone steps onto it.
Search and rescue
A drone covers a search area faster than a line of people on foot, and a thermal camera picks out a person after dark or under tree cover. Ground teams go where the aircraft has already looked.

What a camera misses at a spill
