FAA rules

Over 55 lb. Plan the approval.

FlyCart 30 weighs 65 kg (about 143 lb) with two batteries, before cargo. Part 107 covers drones under 55 lb, so it doesn't apply.

Civil operators

Section 44807 exemption

Companies and nonprofits.

What it takes
  • Petition the FAA for an exemption under 49 U.S.C. §44807, filed on the public docket (14 CFR Part 11).
  • Then apply for a COA: the airspace approval for where you fly.
  • The FAA expects a concept of operations, manuals, procedures and a safety risk analysis.

Government agencies

Public aircraft COA

Agencies flying their own aircraft.

What it takes
  • Qualifying government operators can fly as public aircraft under a COA.
  • The aircraft must be owned or exclusively leased by the agency.
  • Each flight must serve a governmental function, not a commercial one.

Delivery for hire

Part 135

Carrying packages as a business.

What it takes
  • The FAA certifies drone package delivery operators under Part 135.
  • The FAA also issues the exemptions, waivers and operations specifications these flights need.

FAQ

Questions.

How much can FlyCart 30 carry?

Up to 30 kg on dual batteries or 40 kg on a single battery, per DJI, at sea level. Capacity drops as takeoff altitude rises.

Can it fly in rain?

It's rated IP55, per DJI. The rating isn't permanent and doesn't cover the propulsion system.

Do I need FAA approval?

Yes. It's over 55 lb before cargo, so Part 107 doesn't cover it. See FAA rules above, or our FAA waivers & BVLOS page.

Are batteries included?

DJI's In the Box sheet lists the aircraft, the RC Plus with its WB37 battery, a 100W adapter, cables and tools. DB2000 batteries and the C8000 station aren't on it, so we quote them with the aircraft.

What software runs it?

DJI Pilot 2 on the DJI RC Plus flies it. DJI DeliveryHub plans, tracks and manages operations in the cloud.

Is it NDAA compliant or Blue UAS?

It depends on your agency, your funding and the rules you fly under. See NDAA & Blue UAS.

Where are the prices?

Pricing depends on the kit. Request a quote and we'll send it in writing.

Do you repair it?

Our Akron bench handles diagnostics and repair for enterprise drones. Start a repair.

Where do the specs come from?

From DJI's official pages at dji.com, measured under DJI's test conditions.
