How it works

Remote ID, explained

Drones from 250 g to 55 lb broadcast a digital license plate. Pierce sensors read it.

  1. Drone broadcasts. Remote ID sends the drone's location, flight data and serial number, plus the operator's location.
  2. Sensors listen. YR1, R2S and R2T pick up Remote ID. YR1 adds ADS-B for crewed aircraft.
  3. Flight Portal 3D shows it. Drones and pilots in 3D, with map layers, geofences and alerts.
  4. Your team acts. Keep your own flights clear, or find the pilot of a drone that shouldn't be there.
Unidentified droneIts Remote ID broadcast gives the serial number, position and altitude, and where the pilot is standing. Tap the other drones on the map.

Airspace sensor

YR1

Remote ID plus ADS-B in one sensor. Fixed site, mobile or on the move; networked or local.

  • 20 sq mi urban
  • 100 sq mi rural
  • Wall or pole mount
  • Optional 4G LTE
  • Designed & assembled in USA

Tactical sensors Beta

R2S & R2T

R2S runs on solar with automatic LTE. R2T goes body-worn, in a car, on an aircraft or at a fixed site. Pierce lists both as beta, taking advance orders.

  • 12 sq mi each, typical
  • Layer with YR1

Remote ID beacon

B1

Adds Remote ID to a drone, and keeps broadcasting a downed aircraft's position for recovery.

  • 29 g
  • 2+ km range
  • 8 hr per charge
  • FAA Declaration of Compliance

Software

Flight Portal 3D

Browser-based 3D airspace view of Remote ID and ADS-B. Sends data to UTM, C2 and C-UAS systems.

  • 3D map layers
  • Geofences & alerts
  • UAS / pilot classification

Public safety

Know who's in your airspace

Fixed sites, vehicles or worn on the body.

01 · DFR coordination

Keep your flights clear

In Huntsville, police DFR and UAS teams flew overwatch for a courthouse dedication among other police and hobby drones. Remote ID from a YR1 on the jail and tactical sensors kept the airspace free of conflicts, per Pierce.

02 · Events

Watch the sky over the crowd

Spot unauthorized drones over stadiums and gatherings. Pierce sensors have been deployed at the Super Bowl and the World Cup.

03 · Airspace violations

Find the pilot, not just the drone

Remote ID includes the operator's location, so officers can go straight to the person flying.

04 · Tactical Beta

Coverage that moves with you

R2T rides on the body, in a vehicle or on an aircraft. Pierce lists its tactical sensors as beta.
